Photo Mini-Session Fundraiser

Our sister-in-law, Chrissy Kennedy, is a photographer in Austin, Texas. She has literally traveled the world taking photos along the way. When I first met Chrissy, she told me of her dream of being a photographer for “National Geographic”. I instantly knew that dream was a possibility if she chose to pursue it. Chrissy is all the things I am not…outdoorsy…super athletic…likes climbing mountains…spontaneous…adventurous…and a phenomenal photographer. Her choice to be “mommy” instead of traveling the world, by no means, diminishes her stellar photography skills.

Chrissy called just days after we told our family we were starting the adoption process to ask if she could do mini-photo sessions in Abilene to help us raise funds.

Are you kidding me?! Yes!

Her quickness to offer this shows the things that are important to her heart. She loves the family that we each married into like it is her own. Also, she loves and supports adoption. Our adopted child will be her 2nd niece or nephew that has joined her family through adoption. Her sister and brother-in-law adopted the most precious little girl from Ethiopia 3 years ago. I’ll let you guess how she helped them do some fundraising. :)

Chrissy is coming to Abilene Saturday November 5th to take photos of 12 individuals, couples, or families who sign up first on her beautiful website. The 20 minute sessions will occur from 8:00am – 2:00pm at the Onstead Building {formally known as the Foster Building} on ACU’s campus. The newly remodeled foyer is very modern and allows immense amounts of natural light to stream in. Or…if the weather permits, there is a beautiful lawn out front with graduated, grass steps, limestone “benches”, and a large open grassy area.

Here is how you sign up…

Step 1: Go to www.chrissykennedyphotography.com

Step 2: Use your mouse to hover over the 4th tab “Projects”, a drop down menu will appear, and click on “Current Projects”.

Step 3: On the left side of the screen, click on “Sign Up Here” under Abilene Adoption Mini- Shoot.

Step 4: Click on the highlighted circle “Sat. Nov. 5th” {it’s your only option}.

Step 5: Select an available time that works best for your family.

On the day of the photo shoot, I will be Chrissy’s trusty assistant so you do not have to worry about blindly finding a person you’ve never met. 100% of the proceeds from these photo sessions are going straight to our adoption fund as Chrissy has so generously offered all funds raised to us. {Once again, I sit here overwhelmed by her gift to us and our baby.}

Now for your viewing pleasure, here are some of the photos she has taken of our family and our sweet Luke.

This was Luke's newborn session. Our little, undercooked preemie was 6 weeks old here. I just love this picture so much for so many reasons!

Look at the difference! Luke was 7 months here and we were all together at Thanksgiving. Luke's cheeks turn red very easily. He got deemed "Santa's grandson" after Chrissy took this photo.

I have no words. I just need all the heart eyed emoji's for this photo!

Christmas card circa 2014. Love, love, love!
