The Kennedy 4

After a 6 weeks+ hiatus, summer is coming to a close and it’s time to start blogging again. We have had such a wonderful summer…I am quite a fan of this academia schedule. Just to clear up any confusion, Tim has continued to work really hard and has not just been playing all summer. However, he has allowed himself {therefore, all of us} to take long weekends, go on vacations, and he has spent at least half of these summer mornings at home. Again…I am quite a fan of this academia schedule!

At the Kennedy residence, we are gearing up for Tim to start his 3rd year of professor-ing, Luke is so ready to start “school” {A.K.A. Tuesday/Thursday Parent’s Day Out}, and I am starting a new job doing some research part-time for Texas Tech. Though this sounds like a lot of new and exciting, this is not the half of it…

The Kennedy 3 is becoming The Kennedy 4 through adoption!

A few things we do know:

1st: God called Tim and me to adopt long before we knew each other. God orchestrated our marriage and has had this as a part of His story since the beginning. We are honored that He has chosen us to personify His love in this way. I could not have chosen a better partner, in Tim, to walk this journey with!

2nd: We believe that we are adopting now {earlier than originally planned} because the child God is creating for us is ready now.

3rd: Luke was made to be a big brother, will love fiercely, and will be the protector of his younger sibling.

4th: We are so excited to be partnering with Christian Homes & Family Services as we begin this journey. {Go check them out at www.ChristianHomes.com}

A few things we don’t know:

1st: How long it will take. {Subscribe to this blog, and I will update you every step of the way!}

2nd: If we will be adopting a boy or a girl...or multiples.

3rd: What race our child will be. {We are open to races outside of our own, and we are excited to see the new “complexion” of our family.}

4th: The story God will use to bring us all together, but, boy, are we excited to see His story unfold!

Again, subscribe to this blog and every update will be sent directly to your inbox! It is our desire to share the adoption process as we learn it ourselves, be candid regarding all of the emotions we will be experiencing, report the wonderful ways we see God work, and tell as much of our child’s story as we deem appropriate. Questions are welcomed!

We will also be releasing some dates in the near future if you would like to get involved in helping us raise funds. Can I get a “What-What” for garage sales, mini-photo sessions, and an “oh so cute” custom designed t-shirt!!! With the risk of sounding repetitive, subscribe, subscribe, subscribe…right now…do it!!!
